The astonishing and overwhelming ability of the
Working Class to do stupid things is really infinite.
A few months ago, they went up with the Brexit –
brilliant! Congratulations!
Now it is time of the US Working Class: “white male
blue collar”, as they are usually saying in US to precisely define those who
are there with, basically, no college and some poor literacy.
The same morons who put Obama on the White House on
the hope of a free health insurance plan are now upset and just turned US, a
former progressive and populist government, into a new form of one: the Nazi-democracy.
The “hate speech” and the Hitler-style of addressing
ideas to the people in general is now inserted in a system with a Legislative
Branch (absolutely controlled by the same owner of the chair on the Executive
who addresses the hate speeches), but with serious oversight by certain
institutions and agencies and, mainly, by the Judiciary.
Hate speech will turn into a form of public
governance: until our guts can support this kind of treatment in the public
arena.
Hate speech is now the rule all over the world. We
lost the last bulwark of the institutionalized moderate speech controlled by
the etiquette of the politically correct perspective of living. The next step
will be the fans of Red Sox start to beat, like animals, those blue Yankee fans
and vice-versa (just to be in line with the other parts of the civilized World
like Europe).
Negotiation, agreements, understandings, tolerance and
the politics based on reason are part of the past. Samurai virtues and cavalry
public posture are things for sissies: the political arena cannot tolerate
gentlemen anymore – it is a field for rude people with neolithic arguments and
reasoning, but, as they say, “with guts”.
In other words – the political arena is completely
occupied by hooligans: don’t you want to Occupy Wall Street? Yeah… they got
that: all of them with the mask of 18th Century British Terrorist
and representing… – the Blue Collar people!!!
They occupied: not only Wall Street but also the White
House.
And the Nazi-democracy is exactly what is happening
now in US, since then: people chose, clearly, the hate speech and the affirmative
statements of a race over others, of a social class over others, of an intellectual
(low) condition over others, of a bunch of vices and “minor hatings” over
others. The so-called “silent majority” showed up and, literally, delicately
offered the middle finger to the “loud minorities” (which I really don’t know
who they are…).
The “silent majority” is the nowadays politically-incorrect
institutionalized. They found someone to say what they cannot – he is rich,
crazy, and inconsequent and can give voice to the inner vices assuming a large
liability for his hate postures. Now, with money and political power, we can
say that hate speech and hooliganism in politics is more than permitted – is incentivized
by example.
Yes – Homer Simpson prevailed.
On their turn, the “silent majority” believes in the
self-made man: not in that one who will be conducted to the White House, but
strictly on themselves. They think they are able to win in that country because
the country, itself, is the land of
opportunities. The magic is in the land and on themselves, not on people
(mainly other people). The only thing they need is someone to take the “minorities”
out of their way. Simple.
In the military, a “silent majority” is also what a
few soldiers found in Vietnam and all over Middle East: troops of unidentified
soldiers, pretending they are simple civilians, but with real military
potential to harm adversary troops. War crime? No. Self defense.
But a few call them terrorists.
And the silent majority will, in their turn, call the
other side as terrorists while they will consider themselves in “self defense”
against these potential harmers.
Terrorists prevailed, in the end of the story. Yeah –
it seems not so simple…
And, talking about terrorists, once a friend of mine,
who is a brilliant political scientist said, from a real political point of
view and from the perspective of the distribution of power, that citizens of affected
countries should have the right (or, at least, the opportunity) to vote for
President in US, although they are not even US citizens or (God!) US residents.
I thought that statement was a blasphemy, a bad joke from the perspective of
the citizenship rights definition. The “others” cannot interfere in my right to
choose my representative, although the things my representative does can
interfere on their rights; but just as matter of consequence and not as matter
of chose…
Nowadays, I understand what she said. But I confess,
it is too late to recognize that…
